Professor Bruno began his martial arts training as a child in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the age of 12. Now he is a 3rd Stripe Black Belt under the legendary Professor Marco Barbosa. Professor Bruno is also a brown belt in judo and is a seasoned judo competitor. He also has been training and fighting Muay Thai since 2008 with a record of 5-1. 

Professor Bruno has dedicated his life and career to sharing the techniques and values of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for the past 20 years.

Professor Bruno Jacaré, also known as the Alligator, is widely regarded as one of the top competitors and coaches in the Northeast.

Like many of us, Professor Bruno is a family man. He is a son, father, husband, and friend. Originally from Sao Paulo Brazil, Professor Bruno and his wife Herica moved to Hingham in 2017 to start their family.

As a child, Professor Bruno explains that he was a shy and reserved child who was often bullied. As a defense to this bullying, Professor Bruno would resort to fighting to defend himself against said bullies. Professors Bruno’s parents were struggling with him and needed a solution to keep him safe and happy. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was introduced to him, and his life changed! It was like magic! He learned confidence by learning how to defend himself, he was bulletproof. He learned humility, the value of a friend, and how to treat others. The young Professor Bruno learned values that were key while learning Jiu Jitsu. If it were not for Jiu Jitsu, Professor Bruno would not be the man he is today. For this reason alone, he promotes that all men, women, and children try Jiu Jitsu as it can improve and even save lives in many ways.
